Since I was a child and my father took me to museums and galleries in New York City and Washington, D.C., I have believed that art elevates the human spirit and when I’m in my studio with a brush in my hand, my spirit soars—sometimes successfully, and sometimes not so much so, but it soars nonetheless. …And while it’s soaring, I paint with the hope that my work will bring a smile to the viewer’s face. Since retiring from the Las Vegas work-a-day world in 1995, I’ve had the time to pursue my passion for watercolor in earnest and have studied with such award-winning local Las Vegas artists as, Mary Shaw, Richard Ramsdell, Barbara Yoerg, Jan Schaeffer, and Ed Hoag. I joined the Nevada Watercolor Society in 1997, and became a Signature member. I’ve won many awards, and have studied with many nationally acclaimed artists such as Don Andrews, Carl Purcell, Stephen Quiller, and Charlotte Huntley.
